Medical Insurance Benefits
All services provided by Kingwood Psychotherapy & Assessment Center are considered out-of-network for all insurance plans. Most insurance plans reimburse between 40-60% of the cost of each session (with some paying up to 80-90%), which amounts to comparable costs of seeing an in-network provider. We provide you with all the necessary paperwork the insurance company requires to make your reimbursements easy and hassle free.
Important Considerations Before Using Medical Insurance
Medical insurance is a wonderful tool to have when you need certain types of treatment!
However, using insurance benefits for mental health services sometimes comes with undesirable consequences. For example, if you have a mental illness diagnosis that you use medical insurance to cover, it becomes part of your permanent medical record. This may be detrimental in the future, when you apply for certain jobs (especially in law enforcement, teaching professions, nursing, medical field specialties, upper management positions, etc.), pursue certain types of careers (especially the military or any government security clearance job) and apply for life insurance coverage.
In addition to these concerns, your privacy is lessened when you use medical insurance, because the therapist is required to submit documentation about you and your symptoms to justify the need for treatment. The insurance company uses the diagnostic code to determine how many sessions they will allow you to have.

Payment in full is collected at the beginning of your appointment.
We accept cash or personal checks. Partial payments are not accepted.
There is a $50 fee for sessions that were not cancelled or rescheduled 24 hours prior to your scheduled appointment time.
